c. Trains: +100, +50, 0, -50 points for 1st - 4th 🚂
3. Round One Rules- Losing Points
a. Play begins with the person on the left of the shuffler. The goal is to accrue the least amount of points.
b. The game is played in hands. there are 13 hands, and in each hand, there is a “loser”. The loser of the hand begins the next hand.
c. A player begins with suit (♦️♠️♣️), and every player after must follow with that with the same suit. The highest card played of that suit wins the round.
d. The hearts suit cannot be played as the entry suit until that is the last suit in your hand.
e. If a player does not have a matching suit to the entry suit, they can play any card they would like (including hearts).
f. If a player collects all the possible points, they get positive (+) 104 points.
g. After all possible points are collected by all the players, points are tallied for the round. The sum will be -104 (or +104 if the player collects all points).
4. Round Two Rules- Gaining Points
a. Play begins with the person on the left of the shuffler. The goal is to accrue the most number of hands (max 13). There are four (4) total games to this round, one led by each player. Hearts can be played at anytime in this round. Each hand is worth +8 points.
b. The starting player begins the game by deciding a dominate suit (♦️♠️♣️♥️ or none) or selling the dominant suit to another player for a certain number of hands (ie. Player 1 sells to Player 2 in exchange for two hands that Player 2 wins).
c. If a player has a card in the suit of the initial one that is played, they must play that card. In addition, if a player has a higher card in the than the card played in a matching suit, they must play the higher card (unless a dominant card has been played). The player with the highest card wins the hand and begins the next hand.
d. If a player does not have a matching suit to the initial card played for the hand, they can play any suit, including the dominant suit. If a dominant suit is played at any point during the hand, the highest dominant suit of that hand wins.
d. After all hands are played, points are tallied to total +104 per round.
5. Round 3 Rules - Trains.
a. The goal is to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible. In each turn, a player can only play one card or skip if they have no available cards to play. If you can play a card, a card must be played.
b. Eights (8) are considered the entry cards for each suit. No play with any suit can begin until the respective 8 is played. The player with the 8 of Hearts (8❤️) begins the round.
c. Players take turns adding a card to one of the existing trains. The card must be in direct sequence to the card they are playing (ie. playing a 3 on a 4 or a Jack on a Queen).
d. The highest card is Ace and the lowest card is 2.
e. Points are assigned
1st = +100 points
2nd = +50 points
3rd = 0 points
4th = -50 points
6. Adding the points
a. After all rounds are complete, sum all the points across the rounds. Be mindful of the negative and positive values.
